20 Steps to a Successful Website
- Receive customized proposal with quote from Maurer Website Design.
- Agree to terms & conditions, submit 50% deposit and hire Maurer Website Design.
- Find and register available domain name(s).
- Set-up a web hosting account and e-mail accounts with an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- Set-up a temporary home page (or "coming soon") using your logo and contact e-mail.
- Contract Maurer Website Design to create a Logo Identity/Stationary Package.
- Develop your navigation architecture in flow-chart form in order to identify all the components.
- Design home page (or index) layout to get the "look and feel" you want for your business.
- Design template of secondary pages based on the homepage colors and layout.
- Slice the Photoshop layouts into html template pages and web-optimized images.
- Develop any backend database, a la carte components and programming.
- Write web content. Compile images from your photo library, through stock photography or created by Maurer Website Design.
- Decide on appropriate active text hyperlinks within the site's content.
- Combine final content with programming and templates.
- Internally: Test, test test!
- "Soft" launch for friends and family to test.
- Incorporate META Tags ("Keywords" and "Description") then "Hard" launch to general public.
- Continue to add more content to website.
